There’s a place I call the Land of Discouragement. It sounds like: “Not going to happen.” “I can’t do it.” “Nothing ever changes.” And the longer you stay there, the more normal it feels. Your mind starts treating heaviness like home.
But here’s the truth (and it’s not cute, it’s liberating):
you are allowed to move. Not by pretending life is easy.
Not by slapping a smile on pain. By making one quiet, stubborn decision: “I will not rent space to hopeless thoughts today.” Hope isn’t denial. Hope is direction. It’s the inner steering wheel that turns you toward God even when the road is messy.
