Today’s Message: Remember Your Victories

A Course in Miracles gives us a sharp little sword for moments we feel our victories are making our race into negative thoughts: “I can choose peace instead of this.” That line matters because memory is not neutral. The mind can make an altar out of old pain. It can kneel before what hurt it and call that wisdom.
But ACIM says you still have a choice. You are not chained to every dark thought your past tries to hand you. You can choose peace instead of this. You can choose not to let one old wound become the narrator of your whole life.
And then ACIM goes even further: “I choose the joy of God instead of pain.” Now that is a line with some backbone. It does not deny that pain happened. It refuses to make pain your permanent address.
